2023 Youth Justice Rally

15th Annual Youth Rally
”Watering The Seeds of Change”
was held
Thursday, February 23, 2022
at the State House

This event serves as a platform for young people to voice their concerns and advocate for their future. This year’s theme was "Watering the Seeds of Change" to bring attention to the importance of supporting young people in Massachusetts.

The youth of today are like seeds, full of potential and eager to grow. But like all seeds, they need nourishment to reach their full potential. The state of Massachusetts has the power to provide that nourishment, just as water is vital to the growth of a plant. The I Have A Future Coalition called upon the state to invest $33 million in youth jobs, re-envision school safety, lower the voting age to 16 and 17-year-olds, include 18-20 year olds under juvenile jurisdiction and provide access to more fair housing.

We stood together in our call to action to provide the resources young people need to grow and flourish into the fruit of our society.

Boston artist Yotron The Don shared a piece of his work which participants were able to help complete entitled Seeds of Change. Inside elected officials such as Boston CIty Council Member Julia Mejia and Senator Liz Miranda addressed nearly 200 participants along with youth speakers and performance artists.
